To Build Community
With the rise of social media, we’re also seeing a rise in indie publications, emerging from corners of social media.
Usually, these publications are run by young creators, and made for young creators.
When we use the term “young,” we use it in a more figurative sense, in that these creatives are simply new to the scene and to the craft. Individuals can be young and new creators regardless of age.
A while ago, we launched an initiative called the Zine Network, where we connected with other independent publications. One of the principles that Aspirants stands behind is that community is the foundation for everything, and this is our community.
Today, we’re re-opening submissions to join the Zine Network and to get your publication added to our network page.
If you’re running an independent creative publication, we want to hear from you.
If you’re an artist looking for somewhere to publish, we encourage you to look on this page for a publication that aligns with who you are and what your art is. And, if not a single one fits, it’s never late too start building that space for yourself.
To build community, we must actively engage with each other and reach outside of our direct circles. To build community, we must help each other grow—and that is central to our mission.
We could not do this without the people and brands that have been in our corner and have stood with us. Aspirants exists because of you.
